Online training can indeed offer many benefits, and rightly occupies an increasing share in the fitness industry.
Here are a few of them:
1. Get professional advice
We all know we need to eat better and exercise. But a personal trainer can work with you to develop a program that is perfectly tailored to you and what you want to achieve.
You will reach your goal easier and faster, following proven methods in exercise and nutrition in order to become stronger, more prepared and healthier – based on science, and not on stories from the gym.
Not to mention, your personal trainer will be able to regularly adjust your plan to reflect your progress and push you toward goals.
2. It is more flexible
There’s never enough day in and day out, is there? And when you try to book face-to-face sessions with a personal trainer, you will often find that the most popular times are used first – just before and after work. When you barely keep up with your tight schedule, it can make it hard to find training time.
The great thing about an online personal trainer is that he is completely flexible. Do you want to train at the gym on Saturdays first? Or would you rather do a routine at home after you pick up the kids from school?
Once you have set up your fitness program, you can exercise whenever and wherever you want, with the confidence that you are following an ideally designed plan.
3. Communication is easy
These days, we all live in a digital world that works great. Thanks to Skype, Facebook, WhatsApp and many others, it’s incredibly easy for you and your personal trainer to stay in touch – even if you don’t meet face to face. You will be able to access exercise routines and meal plans on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, either at home or outside.
4. You get attention and motivation
Some people assume that because you are not in the same location with your coach, you will feel demotivated. But that is simply not the case.
It is true that you need a little personal drive to get the most out of any training program. However, it is my job to stay in touch and try not to let you down.
Just because I don’t see all of my clients, that doesn’t stop me from being my usual friendly but solid person. If people start to give up or put less effort into training, I will call them and get to the root of the problem. Basically, I’ll still be on their backs. So will any good online personal trainer.
5. It is more affordable
Cheaper is not always better, but we all want to save money where we can. If your budget is small, working online with a personal trainer costs less than in person. That’s because we don’t have to give up so much of our time overseeing your workouts.
In addition, you will receive exactly the same service as any other client – initial consultations, instructions on how to perform the exercises correctly, tips on how to prepare meals and much more. So I do things and many people have told me that they have had the same online training experience as face to face, or even better.
6. The results are the same
At the end of the day, I can’t train on your behalf – the hard work is on you. But that applies to all customers, whether they are online or not. If you are dedicated and choose the right personal trainer for yourself, there is no reason why you would not achieve the same results through online training and as you would through any other type.
Modern applications and tools mean that we coaches can closely monitor your progress, whether we live tens of kilometers away or in another country. Sending back videos of how you perform the exercises can show us if your technique is correct, and we can further correct it by calling or texting.
As you can see, online training with a professional and dedicated personal trainer has many advantages.
Finally, don’t be discouraged by the fact that you won’t see your coach in person.
I’ve been training with clients one-on-one for years and I’ve found that working online actually changes the relationship or process surprisingly little. So, if you can’t afford it or don’t have the time to meet with a personal trainer, don’t let that get in the way of your fitness goals.
